Flexible Online Schooling
When Traditional School
Is Not the Answer

If your child is not thriving in traditional school, the answer may not be a different school. It may be a different kind of school entirely. weschool@catalyze delivers one-to-one live schooling for learners who need a different structure with the same British curriculum qualifications.

No judgment. No pressure. A conversation about your child — not a sales call.

"The choice is not between education and something else. It is between a system that was designed for most children, and a programme that was designed specifically for yours."

Before anything else

We want to understand where you are before we offer anything

Three different parents arrive at this page. They are not all in the same place. The first thing weschool does is recognise which one you are.

The Philosophical Choice

You chose this path deliberately. You do not need to justify it.

You have been educating your child outside the traditional school system because you believe in a different approach to childhood, to learning, and to the relationship between the two. You are not here because something went wrong. You are here because you want structured qualifications alongside the approach you have already chosen.

weschool does not require you to change your philosophy. We provide the British curriculum qualifications — Cambridge CAIE or Pearson Edexcel — that sit alongside the approach you have chosen, without overwriting it.

The Exhausted Parent

The school had every opportunity to help. It did not. You are not the problem.

You have attended the meetings. You have written the letters. You have watched your child try to fit into an environment that was not built for them — and you have been told, in various ways, that the problem is with your child rather than with the system. You are not looking for someone to tell you it will all be fine. You are looking for evidence that someone understands what your child actually needs.

The TLC Learning Assessment starts with where your child genuinely is — not where the system decided they should be. No prior school report is taken as a definition.

The Research-Led Parent

You have done the reading. You know personalised learning exists. You want to see it in practice.

You have not arrived here by accident. You have been researching flexible schooling, alternative education, one-to-one programmes, and what the research actually says about how children learn. You are not easily impressed by marketing language. You want to see specificity how the assessment works, what the tutor does, how progress is measured, and what the qualification outcome looks like.

This is a conversation for you. We will show you exactly how the programme works — from the TLC Learning Assessment through to the examination registration — with no vague claims.

 Within flexible learning

Eight learner profiles — all served by the same programme

Flexible learning is not one thing. weschool's TLC Learning Assessment is designed to identify which profile describes your child and the programme is built from that specific starting point.

The Philosophical Learner

Learning outside the school system by deliberate choice. Needs qualifications alongside the chosen approach.

The Fatigued Learner

Burned out by the performance demands of traditional school. Energy and confidence need to be rebuilt before academic content can land.

The Hands-On Learner

Not built for desk-based, auditory learning. Needs a different relationship between concept and application.

The SEN Learner

Specific learning needs that the school system has not accommodated. One-to-one is not a compromise it is the correct environment.

The Above-Curve Learner

Moving faster than the classroom allows. Bored, under-challenged, and increasingly disengaged from a pace set for others.

The Below-Curve Learner

Behind in a way that the classroom cannot address. Needs gaps bridged without the social pressure of a classroom environment.

The Cognitive Style Mismatch

The school system's teaching style does not match how this child processes information. Not a capability gap — a style gap.

The Unassessed Learner

Never formally assessed. Starting level unknown. The TLC Learning Assessment is designed precisely for this starting point.

One family's story — confirmed for use

the farm stayed. the grades followed.

"I chose childhood for my child. The farm stayed. The grades followed."
C/D grades → A and A*

"A family who chose a different kind of education, one where childhood itself was part of the learning, came to weschool when their child needed qualifications. The TLC Learning Assessment mapped the genuine academic position. The programme ran alongside the life they had chosen. The qualifications did not require sacrificing the approach. The grades moved from C and D to A and A*."

 The TLC Learning Assessment

Assessment is how we listen — not how we evaluate

The TLC Learning Assessment is not a test. It is the process by which we learn where your child actually is — across every subject, at the level they are genuinely at, without assumptions from age or prior school.

Initial consultation

We understand your child's history, your family's approach, and what the qualification outcome needs to look like.

TLC Learning Assessment

A subject-by-subject assessment that maps the genuine academic position. No assumption is carried in from age, year group, or previous school.

Programme design

The programme is built from the assessment. Subjects, pace, daily structure — all specific to your child's profile.

Tutor match and first session

A specialist tutor matched to your child's profile. The relationship begins — not the product.

What the assessment finds

Every learner arrives with a different academic history. Some have never sat in a classroom. Some have — and the classroom did not serve them. The TLC Learning Assessment maps the genuine position across the Four Pillars: Concept, Application, Cross-Connection, and Presentation.

What we find drives what happens next. The programme is built from the assessment — not from a template.

 Questions  families ask

what parents who have made this choice want to know

The TLC Learning Assessment is designed for exactly this situation. It identifies where your child is across every topic and subject, regardless of their prior educational history. We do not require school records, previous assessments, or grade reports to begin. The assessment tells us what we need to know.

Yes. All weschool learners sit Cambridge CAIE or Pearson Edexcel examinations as registered private candidates. The certificate is identical to that of any full-time school student. There is no distinction in the qualification for learners who came through a non-traditional route.

Grade placement at weschool is always confirmed by the TLC Learning Assessment — not assumed from age. A child who is behind their age peers begins at their genuine academic level and builds from there. The one-to-one model means the pace is set by the learner's progress, not by a classroom average.

The first thing we do is listen. The counsellor who speaks with you has been briefed on the full context you share in the pre-consultation form. The first conversation is not about the programme — it is about your child. The programme comes after we understand what your child actually needs.
